Das R'n'B-Quartett aus Atlanta, Georgia hat sich für sein drittes Album Zeit genommen. Nach Room 112 präsentieren Daron, Slim, Q und Mike nun mit Part III ihre bisher vielseitigste Song-Kollektion. In den 13 Tracks, größtenteils produziert von Keyboarder und Sänger Daron Jones, der bereits mit R. Kelly, Kelly Price und Usher zusammenarbeitete, gelingt der Formation ein spannender Brückenschlag zwischen Pop, Soul, Gospel, R'n'B und HipHop. Die Bandbreite reicht von einfühlsamen Old-School-Balladen wie "Missing You" über das mit sanften Streicher-Klängen angereicherte "It's Over Now" bis hin zu der fantastischen Midtempo-Komposition "Don't Hate Me", bei der die vier Jungs von Rapper Twista unterstützt werden.

Der Einfluss von Executive Producer Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, auf dessen Label Bad Boy Entertainment das Album erscheint, wird vor allem in "Peaches & Cream" deutlich, einer von einem minimalistischen Groove angetriebenen Nummer, bei der die vier jungen Herren noch einmal eindringlich ihr herausragendes Gesangstalent unter Beweis stellen. Eindeutiger Höhepunkt ist jedoch der Titel "Player", ein mit spartanischen Piano-Klängen unterlegter Song, auf dem 112 erneut eindrucksvoll ihre stilistische Vielseitigkeit demonstrieren. --Norbert Schiegl
